Who is Crystal manuel
I’m Crystal Manuel, a proud Leduc resident, mom, and entrepreneur. I built my career the practical way. I am a CPA and spent more than 20 years self-employed, running an accounting firm before founding PetJet, a pet transportation company that moves animals safely across Canada, the U.S., and overseas. PetJet grew because we showed up, communicated clearly, and did what we said we would do.
In 2018 I chose Leduc for my family. I wanted a community where my daughter could grow up safe, known, and supported. Leduc welcomed us, and I got involved.
I founded Brooklyn’s Backpacks for the Homeless, a local effort that provides essentials and dignity. I work with families every day, and I see where systems help and where they stall.
I am running for Leduc Council because I believe in service, not status. My goals are focused and measurable.
I am not a career politician. I am a mom and a business owner who solves problems for a living. I listen. I return calls. I read the fine print. I care about outcomes more than headlines. Leduc deserves representatives who show up prepared and finish the work. If you want practical leadership that respects your time and your money, I would be honored to earn your support.
Why am I running?
I’m running for Leduc City Council because I believe our community deserves leadership that listens, acts, and delivers results. I’m not a career politician. I’m a business owner, a mother, and someone who understands the challenges our residents face every day. I’ve built my life here and I care deeply about making Leduc the best it can be for all of us.
My priorities are clear:
- Safer Streets – Support for community policing and public safety, ensuring our neighbourhoods feel secure and protected.
- Supporting Vulnerable Neighbours – Strengthening FCSS outreach and providing practical housing and support for those who need it most.
- Small Business Success – Making it easier for local businesses to thrive with simpler permits, less red tape, and more local support.
- Smart Spending – Transparent budgeting so residents can see where every dollar goes and how it benefits our community.
- Better Basics – Well-maintained roads, parks, and infrastructure, plus more accessible city services for everyone.
I’ve listened to residents who feel unheard by current leadership, who are frustrated with the lack of action on crime, homelessness, and community programs. I’ve spoken with business owners who struggle with outdated processes and neighbours who just want to see our city well-maintained and safe.
I will be the voice that speaks up for what’s right, fights for those less fortunate, and makes sure every decision is made with the people of Leduc in mind. Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more vibrant city — one that works for everyone.
